ICL SURGERY HOUSTON

EVO Visian ICL™

ICLs is an abbreviation for Implantable Collamer® Lens. These flexible lenses fit behind the iris of the eye and help correct nearsightedness and astigmatism. They are safe, effective, and produce amazing visual results. If you have a very high prescription, ICLs may provide better vision than LASIK. In fact, if you are extremely nearsighted, this may be the best vision correction option.

“Having had to wear glasses or contacts for 30+ years, ICL surgery has been literally life changing...”

Life-Changing Vision from a 15-Minute Procedure.

A small opening is made at the cornea’s edge. The folded lens is inserted through the opening and placed in the eye. The procedure takes about 15 minutes and produces immediate results. Patients are comfortable during the procedure, and once the EVO Visian ICL is in place, it cannot be seen or felt.

Glasses and contacts are more expensive than you think.

The average person spends $25,000+ on glasses, contact lenses, solution, eye exams, etc. It’s like renting your vision from the glasses and contacts lens industry. Worst of all, these will NEVER correct your vision. Use our affordability calculator and see how much you can save with ICL surgery.

ICL questions? We've got answers.

Is ICL surgery covered by insurance?

No. ICL eye surgery is considered an elective procedure and will not be covered under your insurance plan. However, you are able to use your HSA or FSA plan. We also offer 24-month interest-free financing.

How long do ICLs last?

Forever! The Implantable Collamer® Lens is estimated to be last 90 years. It’s guaranteed for life. The satisfaction rate among patients is extremely high, above 99%.

Does ICL surgery hurt?

No. The procedure takes minutes and there is no discomfort. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities within 24 hours.

How long does ICL take?

The procedure takes about 15 minutes and the results are rapid. A tiny incision is created at the base of the cornea. The lens is folded and inserted through the incision and positioned in the eye behind the iris where it is not visible.

Does ICL eye surgery wear off?

Because the ICL corrects for distance vision, it does not eliminate the need for reading glasses if you develop presbyopia (vision after 40) this occurs whether you’ve had ICLs or not.

Is ICL better than LASIK?

If you struggle with severe myopia (nearsightedness) ICL may provide you better visual outcomes and acuity than LASIK. A detailed eye examination is needed to find out if ICLs are appropriate for you.

How do ICLs compare to LASIK?

During ICL we go inside the eye to place the lens behind the iris, while LASIK reshapes your cornea (the surface of your eye) with a laser. They both share the same goal, to help you reduce dependency on glasses and contacts.

When can I return to work after ICL?

Most of our ICL patients are back to work the very next day without skipping a beat. Recovery time is fairly short. You may resume normal activities within a few days.

Can I use my HSA or FSA for ICL?

ICL is a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account procedure. If your company offers a health or flexible spending account you can use pre-tax money to pay for ICL.
