Patient-Focused Care is Our Standard (But Don't Take Our Word For It)

Every patient has unique eyes and a unique story. We welcome you to read the stories of the many happy patients we’ve been honored to serve at SuraVision. These individuals made the phone call, made the drive to our office and made the decision to transform their lives through one of the Modern Vision Correction procedures we offer at SuraVision. We invite you to do the same!

Advanced, Modern LASIK Is the Only Type of LASIK Eye Surgery You'll Find at SuraVision.

LASIK was FDA approved more than 20 years ago. A modern LASIK procedure has no more in common with early LASIK than your current iPhone has in common with the brick phones from the 1990s. We use the most advanced laser vision correction technology and platforms to give you the best visual outcomes. See how LASIK works.

Astigmatism? Struggling with your vision? LASIK may be the Solution

Nearsighted, farsighted, or dealing with astigmatism? Dr. Sura (one of the top eye surgeons in Houston, Texas) is able to correct any of these vision challenges in minutes with our Modern LASIK technology. In fact, we’ve been able to permanently correct these for many years. Myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism can all be corrected. Astigmatism simply refers to an irregular shape of the cornea. LASIK corrects myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism better than glasses and contact lenses by correcting it at the source. The change you notice is immediate and will give you better vision than glasses or contact lenses.

“LASIK has been overwhelmingly found to be safe and effective, perhaps the most studied procedure through the FDA.”

How much does LASIK Eye Surgery cost in Houston?

In Houston and nearby areas, your LASIK investment is $2800 per eye, or $5600 for both eyes regardless of whether or not you have a high prescription, astigmatism, or need a topography-guided treatment. We are the only Houston practice to publish our real LASIK eye surgery price.

We accept all major credit cards, cash, and personal checks. Our team will be happy to help you understand your options for affording visual freedom. We also accept Bitcoin as a payment option.

HSAs and FSAs are excellent ways to pay for LASIK with tax-free funds. These accounts may cover the entire procedure, depending on how much you’ve set aside.

Glasses and contacts are more expensive than you think.

The average person spends $25,000+ on glasses, contact lenses, solution, eye exams, etc. It’s like renting your vision from the glasses and contacts lens industry. Worst of all, these will NEVER correct your vision. Use our affordability calculator and see how much you can save with your Houston LASIK procedure.

So many patients treated. So many lives transformed.

We are passionate about what we do and we love helping people achieve perfect vision everyday. Whether it’s LASIK, PRK, ICLs, RLE, Cataract Surgery or any other vision correction treatment, we are here for you. Don’t take our word for it. Read directly from those who have been through it already.

LASIK questions? We have the answers.

Is LASIK safe?

Yes. It is one of the safest and most studied procedures performed on the human body with the highest satisfaction rate of any elective procedure. In fact, LASIK is safer than wearing contact lenses. Wearing contact lenses increases your risk for an infection and resulting vision loss.

Does LASIK wear off?

In LASIK, we permanently correct the irregular shape of the cornea, or surface of the eye. Around age 47, most people begin to have difficulty seeing up close (presbyopia). This occurs whether they’ve had LASIK or not. If you are close to this age, we’ll take that into consideration in determining your best options.

Does LASIK hurt?

Patients often exclaim “That was it?!” after their Houston LASIK procedures. With the advanced technologies we use, the Modern LASIK procedure is quick and comfortable. Most patients describe the sensation as a feeling of slight pressure.

How long does LASIK take?

The actual procedure usually takes less than 10 minutes per eye. Our lasers take seconds to correct your vision depending on your prescription and the amount of correction needed.

What if I blink or move during LASIK?

Our lasers are designed to limit and also account for movements. Even if you were to cough or sneeze, the laser will pause and resume exactly where it left off. There is no need to be concerned.

Who is a candidate for LASIK?

LASIK is an excellent procedure for you if you have reached ocular maturity (usually around age 18), have a healthy cornea, and have nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia, or astigmatism.

Is there an alternative to LASIK?

If you are not a good candidate for LASIK, you can still achieve visual freedom! LASIK is just one of many procedures offered at SuraVision such as SMILE, PRK, ICLs, Refractive Lens Exchange, or Corneal Inlays.

What's the downtime after LASIK?

Most of our LASIK patients are back to work the very next day. The vision itself is usually 20/20 or better within a few minutes of the procedure and continues to clear and improve even more over the next week.

Does insurance cover LASIK?

No. As part of your LASIK consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss costs, benefits, and financing options with one of our patient coordinators.

Can I Use My HSA or FSA for LASIK?

Yes. LASIK is a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account procedure. If your company offers a health or flexible spending account, you can use it to pay for LASIK.

Is LASIK cheaper than contacts?

Yes. Most people will spend far more on contact lenses over the years and decades than the one-time cost for LASIK. It is so much better and economical to correct your vision than to rely on glasses and contacts.

Why should I get LASIK?

If you want straight teeth, you get braces. If you want great vision, get vision correction. LASIK and other vision correction methods are becoming the standard for vision care. Glasses and contacts should be used during childhood while developing to ocular maturity, but only rarely after that. In the future, glasses will be obsolete. Just watch Star Trek: No one is wearing glasses.

Visual freedom is closer than you think.

Don’t delay — the time for LASIK is now. You’ve got one life—live it free from glasses or contacts. Our patients always wonder why they waited so long for LASIK after seeing what they’ve been missing.

Why LASIK?

Living with glasses or contact lenses can be inconvenient and cumbersome. Whether you’re dealing with fogged-up lenses during a rainstorm, the hassle of cleaning and replacing contacts, or the limitations they place on your lifestyle, LASIK surgery can offer a permanent solution. With advanced laser technology, you can achieve clear vision without the need for corrective lenses, giving you more freedom and convenience every day.

LASIK offers numerous benefits, not only improving your vision but also enhancing your quality of life. With LASIK, many patients enjoy the freedom of sharp vision without relying on corrective eyewear, allowing them to wake up every morning and see the world clearly.

Freedom from Glasses and Contacts: LASIK surgery provides a permanent solution to your vision problems, allowing you to see clearly without the hassle of corrective lenses. No more foggy glasses in the morning, no more fumbling with contact lenses.

Quick Recovery: LASIK is a minimally invasive procedure, with most patients seeing noticeable improvement within 24 hours. Many people can resume their normal activities the very next day.

Cost-Effective in the Long Run: While LASIK is an investment, it often saves you money in the long run by eliminating the need for glasses, contact lenses, and eye care products like solutions or cleaning cloths. You’ll no longer need regular eye exams or prescriptions.

LASIK Procedure - What to Expect?

When you choose LASIK surgery at SuraVision, you’re opting for a modern, safe, and effective solution to your vision problems. We make sure you feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout the process.

Consultation and Evaluation

The first step to achieving a clear vision is scheduling your LASIK consultation. During this consultation, we will conduct a comprehensive eye exam, discuss your medical history, and determine whether LASIK is the right choice for you. We’ll also answer any questions you may have and explain the procedure in detail.

Pre-Surgery Preparation

If LASIK is determined to be the right solution for you, we’ll provide detailed pre-operative instructions. This might include avoiding certain medications and wearing protective lenses before the surgery. Our goal is to prepare you for a smooth procedure and ensure the best results.

The LASIK Surgery

The LASIK procedure itself is quick, typically taking about 5 minutes per eye. Using a state-of-the-art femtosecond laser, we will create a small flap in the cornea, then use a laser to reshape the cornea to correct your vision. The laser is highly precise, ensuring that the procedure is accurate and safe.

Post-Surgery and Recovery

After your LASIK surgery, you’ll rest briefly in our recovery area while our team monitors your progress. Most patients notice improvements in their vision immediately or within a few hours. We will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions and ensure you know how to care for your eyes as they heal.
